Who participates?

This certification is for internal HR and L&D professionals hired by their company as employees to help enhance the skills and capabilities of their organization. It is not intended for independent consultants or coaches.

The program is designed for a cohort of HR and L&D professionals to experience together. Each cohort will complete the program as a group. Cohorts are either members of the same organization or could be a mix of professionals from a variety of companies. Cohorts range in size from 12-24 participants.

How is the program structured?

The program has two core elements:

(1) Certification to facilitate the Resilient Manager curriculum and (2) Licensed access to the curriculum. Only certified facilitators may train StepUp Leadership curriculum. To receive optimum benefit, our curriculum is designed to be co-facilitated. Your certification is valid as long as your organization maintains its licensed access to the curriculum. The license may be renewed annually for access to the most current curriculum and materials.

What are the steps to Certification?

Certification involves the completion of a facilitation course and five modules, each designed to increase your confidence and capabilities to facilitate StepUp Leadership curriculum.

Step One: Resilient Manager Facilitation Course

2.5 days/20 hours, In-Person in San Francisco

The facilitation course focuses on how to set the stage for learning and co-facilitate a dynamic, interactive and meaningful learning environment including how to engage reluctant participants. This is an investment in your skillset and will extend beyond the curriculum you are delivering.

Step Two: Resilient Manager Certification Modules

Modules are completed by attending an online and interactive training on a scheduled day and time (ie participants attend live; it is not a video recording).

Modules One through Five provide insight into how the StepUp Leadership curriculum is designed to improve your organization as well as how to deepen mastery of key skills and practices through internally facilitating each workshop. Helpful hints, pitfalls and how-to’s for each topic are included.

Modules are led by StepUp Leadership coaches and include curriculum materials, assessments, and an initial one-year license access to curriculum as training is completed.

After completion of each module, you receive licensing to provide training of that module in your organization.

What is the cost of Resilient Manager Certification?

Cost to attend the Resilient Manager Facilitation Course is $6500 per attendee for 2 and 1/2 days of facilitation training + 5 online learning group modules and training. You must be StepUp Leadership certified in order to have access to the materials for your organization. Licensing fees apply.

FAQ

What is the format for the online training?

The online training is presented as instructor-led via web conference over the Internet on a scheduled day at a scheduled time. Though a recording is included for later reference, participants must attend live to become certified.

Do I need any special software for the online training?

You may be required to install agent software on your computer to have access to the online training. This may include Zoom.us, GoToMeeting or equivalent. This platform is easily accessible (free) to anyone who has a computer with an up-to-date browser and high-speed Internet access. The integrated microphone and video camera found in most laptops should be beneficial for participants. A microphone for interaction with the course instructor is required.

Where does the licensed curriculum live?

The licensed curriculum lives on the StepUp Leadership website. Once you are certified, instructions will be provided to access the content.

How long does this take to become certified in all modules?

It may take up to six months for individuals to complete certification in all modules.

When can I start delivering the modules?

You can start to deliver each module workshop as soon as you have finished the online training for that module.

What happens if I need to miss a session?

If you need to miss one, you will need to make it up when next scheduled. You are certified to train a module as you complete training of that module. Your organization will not receive access to module content that you are not certified to lead.

Can my whole team participate as its own cohort?

Yes, as long as there are at least 12 people on your team.

Where is the in-person training?

The initial Resilient Manager Facilitation Course will be held in San Francisco. Other sessions will be added based on demand and may be geographically dispersed within the continental United States.

What materials are included in the certification fee?

All the curriculum materials: PDF copy of the workbook, and the facilitator’s timeline. We will also provide PDF copies of posters and include information on how to access assessments and materials for when you deliver them within your organization. Finally, this includes the initial one-year license to access the curriculum and specific training on each module.

What is not included in the certification fee?

You are responsible for the following:

  • Travel and lodging to/from the in-person Resilient Manager Facilitation Course
  • Your own meals
  • Any assessments needed

Instructions for all of this will be provided in a timely manner.

How much does it cost for Resilient Manager Certification?

Cost to attend the Resilient Manager Certification is now $6500 per attendee for 2 and 1/2 days of facilitation training inclusive of 5 online learning group modules and training.

You must be both StepUp-certified for Resilient Manger Facilitation and complete each module in order to have access to all module materials for your organization.

How much does it cost to renew the license?

Licensing begins at the time of completion of the Resilient Manager Facilitation certification and a module. Cost for licensing renewals is based on 20% of the initial licensing fees. For example, if your initial license fee is $10,000, the annual renewal is $2,000.00.

How long is certification good for?

You are certified as long as you are employed by an organization with access to the curriculum license for modules you are certified to lead.

How does the licensing work?

Resilient Manager curriculum is the property of StepUp Leadership. The sponsoring organization receives a one-year renewable license for the curriculum. The license effective date begins at completion of Resilient Manger Facilitation training and completion of a module. At this time, the content for the completed module will be released for use.

What if I leave my company, can I still train Resilient Manager curriculum?

If your career transition finds you as an employee at a company with a current license for the curriculum, you remain certified to train the curriculum under that license. If your career transition finds you as a non-employed coach or consultant in that same company, you are not certified to train the curriculum. If your career transition finds you at a company that is not licensed, you will lose access to content materials.

What happens if all certified trainers depart the company?

The company will retain its license for the licensed period along with any licensing renewals but will not be able to present this content without having certified trainers. Only certified trainers can deliver Resilient Manager curriculum. If all certified trainers were to depart the company, new trainers would need to complete certification.
